A cricket club based on the outskirts of Loughborough has secured a £1,000 funding boost, thanks to North Midlands.
Hathern Old Cricket Club received a £1,000 funding boost from North Midlands as part of the our Community Champions initiative. The club is one of the oldest cricket clubs in Leicestershire having been established in the early 1800s. The team encourages participation from all backgrounds in order to make the team and the sport more diverse. Our funding will help to develop a women's changing room, to help encourage new and future female players into the sport.
Neil Swift at Hathern Old Cricket Club said: “We are extremely grateful for the generous donation from Persimmon Homes. It will go a long way to helping us create a female only changing room for our existing players and hopefully encourage others to join the club.”
Nadine O’Dowd, Sales Director for North Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s an honour to be able to offer this support to Hathern Old Cricket Club, helping to encourage more women to get involved in cricket.”
