North Midlands sponsors Leicestershire distance run
08 October 2024
Our North Midlands has announced its sponsorship of a seven-mile race, taking place on the grounds of the Garendon Park estate in Loughborough.
The team has offered a £1,000 sponsorship to the Shepshed 7, helping the race to boost its profile regionally. Hosted around the grounds of Garendon Park, this year’s race takes place on Sunday 3rd November and has attracted beginners, local club runners and regional elite athletes alike.
The race is a two-lap course over a scenic, traffic free, countryside course with scenic views. The support for this race comes alongside the team's ongoing backing of the Garendon Gallop, which takes place on the estate during the summer.
George Clarke, Race Director of the Shepshed 7, said: “The Shepshed 7 is back, and it's shaping up to be another fantastic event! Organised by the Shepshed Running Club and supported by its dedicated members and their families, this race has a rich history of over 20 years.
“A special thanks to our sponsor, Persimmon Homes, for their generous support this year, including permission to use Garendon Park and vital funding. Whether you’re a returning participant or new to the event, the Shepshed Running Club looks forward to welcoming you to what promises to be an exciting race day.”
Dan Endersby, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Shepshed 7. Each year, the event showcases the best of Leicestershire athletics and provides runners with the opportunity to complete a course with real historical significance.
“We have a large presence in Leicestershire, with both our Garendon Park and Jubilee Rise developments, so it’s great to know that our support will have a positive impact on local athletics.”
