North Midlands team gives £5,000 cash boost to Hinckley Homeless Group

27 February 2024

Hinckley Homeless Group

A Hinckley-based homelessness charity has secured a £5,000 donation to continue its work throughout 2024, thanks to our North Midlands team.

Hinckley Homeless Group received the funding boost as part of our Community Champions initiative. Hinckley Homeless Group is a small local charity that has been helping young homeless people turn their lives around for over 30 years. The group runs a hostel in Hinckley for 12 homeless people aged 17-25 years as well as a move-on house, which is home for 3 young people, aged 18-26.

The team works to help young people in the area break out of a cycle of deprivation, helping them to match the progress made by young people from more privileged backgrounds. Our support will enable the group to employ more people and continue their work in and around Hinckley.

Diana Morgan, Chair at Hinckley Homeless Group said: “Hinckley Homeless Group are delighted to receive a donation of £5,000 from Persimmon Homes.

This valuable donation will help us continue our vital support work with young homeless people in Hinckley, making a real and positive difference in their lives by enabling them to develop essential life skills, overcome individual challenges, engage with education, training and work, grow in confidence and make a successful move into independent accommodation.”

Cllr Michael Mullaney, Cabinet Member for Housing and Community Safety at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, said: “Hinckley Homeless Group do great work supporting young people turn their lives around and to become more independent. I thank Persimmon Homes for their very kind donation to the important work that Hinckley Homeless Group do locally”

Nadine O’Dowd, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local charities and community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”

“It’s an honour to be able to offer this support to Hinckley Homeless Group to start the year as they continue their vital work in the area.”
