North Midlands region has given a Loughborough-based football club a £1,000 cash boost to refresh their training equipment.
North Midlands region has supported Loughborough Foxes women’s team with the donation as part of its Community Champions initiative. The funds will be used to provide football kit for the new open age ladies team.
The club is a local, well established football team for girls and women and relies on funding to assist the club in remaining financially stable whilst still being able to provide the teams with excellent facilities and coaching for them to develop their football careers.
Rachel Baker, Loughborough Foxes Chair said: We are very grateful for the donation from Persimmon Homes as the money has allowed us to buy a new football kit for our newly established women's team. The team has been created to allow a number of girls to continue playing football into adulthood, as well as provide opportunities for other ladies to play regular football. As a club run by volunteers, donations like these are hugely appreciated as it allows us to continue to provide quality football coaching and experiences to a growing number of young girls and women in the area.
Nadine O’Dowd, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “What we do is about so much more than just building high quality homes, it’s also about supporting the communities in and around our developments in the ways that have the most impact.
“Sport is one of the key ways in which community spirit can be fostered, so it’s a delight to be able to give our support to Loughborough Foxes.”
