North Midlands team leads tour of historical monuments at Garendon Park
13 March 2023

Members of Leicestershire County Council and Loughborough Library Local Studies Volunteer Group were welcomed to our Garendon Park development in Loughborough to hear about our commitment to preserving the estate’s historical monuments.
Located on the northern edge of the Leicestershire town, the development will – upon completion – provide mixed-use community with over 3,000 homes for the people of Loughborough and the surrounding areas. Positioned on the Garendon Park estate, the developers have placed a key focus on the preservation of the historical monuments in the area whilst creating the new community.
The site contains a number of structures of historical significance, including the remains of a 12th century Cisterican monastery, an 18th century Triumphal Arch and the White Lodge, which dates back to the 17th Century.
Sean Barratt, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “It was great to welcome Leicestershire County Council and Loughborough Library Local Studies Volunteer Group to Garendon Park and demonstrate the work we’re doing to preserve, enhance and integrate the historical monuments into our upcoming community in Loughborough.
Garendon Park will be our flagship development in the North Midlands, bringing a vast range of homes to the Leicestershire town of Loughborough as well as a wide range of community facilities and amenities.”
