North Midlands team welcome Charnwood Borough Council officials to Garendon Park
24 October 2023
Members of Charnwood Borough Council were welcomed to our Garendon Park community in Loughborough to hear about our work in delivering high quality homes for local people.
Cllr Jewel Miah, Leader of Charnwood Borough Council and Cllr Colin Hamilton, Deputy Leader of the Council, were given a tour of the development’s new show home, meeting with the team to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the housing sector as well as learning more about the site’s progress.
Located on the northern edge of the Leicestershire town, the award-nominated development will – upon completion – provide a mixed-use community with over 3,000 homes for the people of Loughborough and the surrounding areas. Positioned on the Garendon Park estate, we have placed a key focus on the preservation of the historical monuments in the area whilst creating the new community.
Commenting on the visit, Cllr Jewel Miah, Leader of Charnwood Borough Council said: “Charnwood is a thriving and growing place and therefore we need homes for local people.
“It was really interesting to visit Garendon Park which is not only going to deliver housing, but also employment land to support hundreds of jobs, two new primary schools and improvements to the local road network. Our thanks to Persimmon Homes for hosting the visit.”
Dan Endersby, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “It was great to welcome Councillor Miah and Councillor Hamilton to Garendon Park and demonstrate the work we’re doing to deliver a brand new community for the people of Loughborough.
“Garendon Park will be our flagship development in the North Midlands, bringing a vast range of homes to the town as well as a wide range of community facilities and amenities.”
