Persimmon Anglia pledges support to East Anglian Air Ambulance
23 March 2015
A charity dedicated to saving lives across East Anglia will benefit from all the fundraising activity of the Anglia region throughout 2015.
East Anglian Air Ambulance has been selected as a nominated charity for Persimmon Anglia, and will be the focus of the company’s employee events all year. The charity offers a helicopter emergency medical service across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, enabling skilled medical crews to reach patients within 25 minutes and transport them rapidly to hospital as required.
Andrew Fuller, managing director of Persimmon Anglia, said: “This region is a beautiful place to live and work, but as a business based in such a rural area, we fully understand the complexities of getting around quickly.
“Many of us have personal experience of needing the air ambulance service, for ourselves or loved ones, so when we asked our employees to vote for their chosen charity, the East Anglian Air Ambulance was a clear winner.
“We have pledged to make the charity the focus of our corporate and employee fundraising for 2015, and will be planning a series of events and challenges throughout the year.”
East Anglian Air Ambulance Fundraising Manager, Holly Lambert, said: “We are extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes Anglia for choosing EAAA as their regional Charity of the Year in 2015 and we look forward to working with them.
“Corporate support in East Anglia is very important to EAAA as we rely on donations to continue our lifesaving service and keep our helicopters flying 365 days a year.”
Over the years, Persimmon Anglia has donated thousands to local charities, including last year the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, and in 2013 employees raised more than £13,000 for the East Coast Hospice.
