Persimmon backs campaign to help Elias walk
25 July 2016
A five-year-old Worksop boy looking to undergo treatment to help him walk has seen his campaign boosted with a £1,000 donation by Persimmon Homes.
Elias Haydock, who has cerebral palsy, requires £10,000 to fund 18 months of physiotherapy after undergoing surgery.
Miss Haydock said: “Elias has to undergo a further tendon lengthening surgery to enable him to walk with flat feet. This requires extensive physiotherapy in order for the operation to be a success. This will not be fully funded by the NHS and he will need private physiotherapy twice a week for 18 months. The total cost is £10,000. The donation from Persimmon Homes brings us a step closer to this target and we are grateful for their contribution.”
Nadine O’Dowd, Head of Sales for Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “Elias has shown tremendous bravery and his loved ones have shown great determination to raise the money for his surgery. When we heard of the campaign we wanted to support it in any way we could.
“As always it was a difficult decision to select our Community Champions, but I would encourage any charity or organisation that missed out this time to apply again.”
