Persimmon completes deal to progress Maghull development in Merseyside
11 April 2022

Persimmon Homes has completed the purchase of land to unlock a major housing development in the popular location of Maghull in Sefton, Merseyside.
Summerhill Park will deliver 433 new homes supporting the local need for quality new housing. 130 of these will be taken on by a local housing association providing a mix of rented and shared ownership properties while the wider development will offer extra-care housing to enable independent living.
Along with the boost to local housing needs, the scheme will bring a range of community benefits including significant public open space, a new local district centre, road improvements, investment in public transport and the delivery of a new health care facility.
Persimmon Homes is also contributing £1.6 million to be invested in Summerhill Primary School to facilitate the expansion of the school.
Karl Wiseman, Regional Managing Director for Persimmon Homes North West & Yorkshire said: “This is a hugely exciting development that will not only generate significant job opportunities throughout the lifespan of the project, but will also leave lasting community benefits.
“Summerhill Park will provide 433 high-quality homes helping address the need for new quality housing whilst at the same time making important contributions to local services and infrastructure.
“Given the scale of the development, Summerhill Park will form a key component of our business in the region moving forward and following the success of our nearby Poppy Fields development, we’re looking forward to getting started.”
