Persimmon Homes Cornwall and West Devon donates £4,000 to Falmouth & Penryn Boxing Club fundraiser
17 December 2024

The club’s fundraiser in memory of James Henderson - a member of the local club whose life was tragically cut short in Gaza while he was working for a food aid charity - is aiming to develop the club’s new home with ‘every penny goes back into empowering young lives.’
The club’s GoFundMe page states ‘Jimmy's local boxing club needs our support. As Jimmy's closest friends, we refuse to let his memory fade into obscurity. Instead, we choose to honour him in the most fitting way we know – by supporting the sport he loved and the community he cherished.’
Persimmon Cornwall & West Devon’s £4,000 donation has been used to fund new equipment such as boxing gloves, headgear, a mix of punchbags and other facility and equipment upgrades.
Harry James-Mills, GoFundMe Organiser, thanked Persimmon for the donation and said:
“I want to say a huge thank you to Persimmon for their kind donation. This money will fund new equipment and refurbish our new home, helping us to inspire and empower countless young individuals for generations to come.
“Persimmon’s generosity is genuinely going to help us change many young lives in the local area.”
