Persimmon Homes West Wales have announced Wales Air Ambulance as its charity of the year for 2015/2016.
The leading property company chose the cause having recently raised more than £3,000 for the RNLI last year.
Persimmon Homes will now set about a number of fundraising events to aid the air ambulance which requires £6 million to run each year.
Typically each mission costs £1,500 and the services responds to roughly 2,000 missions each year.
Sharon Robinson, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Wales, said: “We are delighted to announce Wales Air Ambulance as our charity of the year.
They provide a vital service across the country and we will be doing all we can raise money to help the cause.
The Persimmon Homes team is already making arrangements for a number of fundraising events and we look forward to working hard to raise money for Wales Air Ambulance.”
Wales Air Ambulance fundraising manager Mark Stevens added: “We’re extremely grateful to the Persimmon Homes West Wales region for choosing us to be their charity of the year – it sounds like they have a great programme of events planned and we’re very much looking forward to seeing their fundraising efforts.
“As a charity we rely entirely on donations from the public and businesses like Persimmon to keep our helicopters in the air. We need to raise over £6 million every year, with each mission costing around £1,500.
This is a really exciting time to be working with the Persimmon Homes team. We’re campaigning to raise £500,000 to help build a new airbase for our South Wales helicopter, and their support will literally be going into the bricks and mortar of our new home.”
