Persimmon Homes Severn Valley opens door for young apprentice

14 December 2012

A young apprentice has been earmarked as a promising talent within the construction industry having secured a nomination in a coveted regional awards programme.

Danielle Nicholls was nominated for her achievements at Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, where she is currently working as a sales apprentice.  The awards were given out by South Gloucestershire and Stroud College to recognise its former students who have excelled in their apprenticeship training.
"To receive such recognition is a real honour," said Danielle.  "I've been supported all the way through my apprenticeship and every day brings new challenges, which is why I love the job so much.  I'm extremely proud to be working for Persimmon and have really enjoyed the hands-on experience as well as gaining a qualification."
Nicola Reed, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, said: "Danielle is worth her weight in gold.  She brings an exceptional level of enthusiasm and diligence to the role and is a pleasure to work with.
"Apprenticeships are a proven way of bringing people through our organisation and offers exciting opportunities to young people in the local community.  It's very important to bring young people into our industry and we will continue to invest in their training and career development to ensure that they stay with the business and go on to become our senior managers of tomorrow."
Persimmon Homes Severn Valley is committed to encouraging young people to consider entering the construction sector and provides apprenticeships that offer recruits the chance to learn practical on the job skills and equip themselves for a future career in the construction industry.
