Persimmon Homes supports children's charity
24 May 2019
An East Anglian charity that supports children with additional needs, and their families, has been awarded £1,000 by Persimmon Homes.
Shine (East Norfolk) will receive the funding through the Persimmon Homes Building Futures scheme, which aims to help community groups working with under-18s.
Andrew Fuller, managing director of Persimmon Homes Anglia, said: “We are proud that our funding schemes can deliver vital resources directly to those small charities, clubs and organisations that make a real difference to the lives of local people. Shine is a superb example, giving practical support to families, siblings and carers. Shine provides respite for children and young people with moderate to severe additional needs and disabilities, as well as a fully-inclusive nursery. The Gorleston-based charity helps these children to develop life, social and independent living skills, in a safe environment, along with much-needed days out for the families."
Persimmon’s £1,000 Building Futures donation will be used to fund therapeutic activities such as pottery for the children and their siblings. For more information visit www.shine-gy.org.uk
Building Futures is being delivered through the Persimmon Charitable Foundation and is aimed at community projects for people aged under 18, targeting grassroots sports groups, charities dealing with physical and mental health issues or awareness, as well as community arts and education projects.
