Persimmon Joins Homes England’s Preferred Developer Land System
14 September 2021
We have been selected as a preferred supplier for Homes England’s new Delivery Partner Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).
Homes England, the Government’s housing delivery agency, launched the new system this week. DPS makes it easier for house builders of any size to access Homes England land. It is the biggest DPS of its kind, and, valued at £20bn, is Homes England’s largest procurement exercise to date.
David Huggett, the group director of land operations, said the new system would allow the business to deliver the new homes the country needs: “This DPS is welcomed across the Persimmon business and we are pleased to partner with Homes England to support the delivery of home ownership for more people.
“Our aim is to always deliver both outstanding service and outstanding value for our customers and this new system will support our objective of improving both availability and choice for customers.”
The appointment as a preferred supplier comes as Persimmon achieves higher levels of build quality and customer satisfaction under the leadership of Dean Finch, group chief executive. In 2020 the business introduced The Persimmon Way to ensure the consistent delivery of good quality homes by its experienced management team. Further investment has included a 70% increase in the number of independent quality controllers within the business.
Alongside the sale of land, local authorities and housing associations can also rely on the DPS as a procurement-compliant solution for finding house builders, making it easier for them to build homes on the land they own.
