Persimmon makes sure the show will go on at Peterborough primary school

Primary school pupils are already eagerly anticipating their annual Christmas production, knowing this year will be a showstopper thanks to a donation from our team in East Midlands.
Ben Smith, Managing Director at Persimmon East Midlands, presented a cheque for £5,000 to the newly-formed parents’ association at All Saints' Church of England Primary School in Peterborough, allowing them to move forward with plans to improve their school hall.
The large school hall caters for all pupils at the school in Dogsthorpe Road, with space for parents too. However, the high ceilings make it hard for the pupils to hear those performing. The school will be exploring options for a stage area, and adding sound and lighting technology, and working on the acoustics ready for the Christmas production.
Headteacher Nick Brompton said: "We very thankful to Persimmon Homes for their incredibly generous donation, and this will help ensure that future productions and performances in the school hall have the children right in the spotlight, for them and their families to enjoy their special moments. As always, we also thank our hard-working Friends of the school (PTA) for working with Persimmon Homes to secure this."
Paul Bristow, MP for Peterborough, visited the school last week as Persimmon Homes East Midlands handed over the donation. Mr Bristow said: “It was great to see how all of the pupils here will benefit from this very generous grant from Persimmon Homes. Awards like this go a long way and make a real difference to schools, and to places like Peterborough as a city. I look forward to hearing about the developments within the school and how the children are taking advantage of the new technology.”
Ben Smith said: “The new parents’ association are striving to give the children the very best from their school journey and it is an honour to help play a part in that with this donation, which will benefit pupils now and in the future.”
Sara Castelhano, PTA secretary, and Katy Newton, chairman of the PTA, said: “We're delighted that our school PTA has been granted a generous £5,000. This incredible contribution will make a significant impact on our school community, specifically enhancing our school hall facilities. With this funding, we'll be able to create a more enriching learning environment for all our students at All Saints' C of E Primary School. Thank you for supporting us in making a difference Persimmon.”
