Persimmon support a fun-packed summer

03 September 2014

Persimmon Homes South Midlands donated £2,000 towards the forthcoming Bannerbrook Summer Club launched at the recent community day where residents and locals were invited to make the most of the sunshine and take advantage of a whole host of entertainment and activities on their stunning grounds.

The Bannerbrook Park community day, held at the start of the summer holidays on 12 July, kicked off the summer holiday club offering local children the chance to get together for fun days packed with games and activities.

The community event and summer club have been organised by the Curate of St Andrew’s Church, Reverend Alex Randle-Bissell, who lives on the development with his wife, Bev and children, Jacob and Bronte. Alex explained: “We organised a fun-packed summer to reinforce the sense of community here at Bannerbrook Park. We have the perfect location for this type of activities and I feel it is a great way to utilise the stunning park at the heart of this development and I am extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes for their support.

We are so indebted to Persimmon Homes for enabling us to engage with young people over the summer. The remainder of the money they have invested will go towards a number of activities including drama workshops today and tomorrow, music production workshops tomorrow and on 19 August and some ‘Games in the Park’ days on 17 and 24 August at Bannerbrook Park. It really is a going to be a summer to remember.”

Alex added that the community day was a huge success attracting over 2,500 people. Activities on the day included face painting, bouncy castles, fun fair rides, a football tournament, the farmers market, a dog show, crafts stalls and was rounded off with a ‘cook out’ in the Park where residents were invited to bring along disposable barbeques, food, drinks family and friends to enjoy an screening of the hit movie 'Grease' on a giant inflatable screen.

Alex said: “We had a fantastic range of activities which went down well with everyone. And after a long day of fun in the sun it was great to wind down with a screening of ‘Grease’ in the park. Even the evening rain couldn’t dampen our spirits.”

Alison Reading, sales and marketing director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands says: “We were delighted to be asked to support this great community event in an area where we are currently developing new homes for the second consecutive year. Bannerbrook Park is a stunning development with a great community feel and we were more than happy to be able to give something back to the local community.”

Persimmon Homes currently has a range of developments located within the Bannerbrook Park area including Eight@Bannerbrook offering a range of two, three and four bedroom homes and the newly opened Ten@Bannerbrook Park which comprises of two and three bedroom homes. Prices start at £161,995*
