Persimmon supports good causes in York
09 February 2022

Two York-based good causes have each received £1,000 from Persimmon Homes Yorkshire.
Bishopthorpe White Rose U10s girls football team and Fulford Preschool were awarded the donation after applying for funding through the Persimmon Homes Community Champions scheme.
The donation will go towards the team’s kit and training gear for the U10s football squad, while the York preschool will purchase new interactive play equipment.
The recently formed Bishopthorpe White Rose U10s girls’ team has seen a surge in new players wanting to join as Mark Cole, for the club, explained.
He said: “The girls’ team was only launched in the summer last year. We are delighted with its popularity and can already field two teams.
“Persimmon Homes’ donation will enable us to purchase new kits and training equipment to support the team’s development - we are very grateful.”
Meanwhile, Fulford Preschool will use their funding from Persimmon Homes to upgrade its play equipment.
Julie Davies from Fulford Preschool said: “We are delighted to receive Persimmon Homes’ support.
“This donation will enable us to increase both our indoor and outdoor range of interactive play equipment to help support the development of our pupils.”
Persimmon Homes Yorkshire makes two donations of up to £1,000 each month to local charities and good causes across the area.
Scott Waters, managing director for Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said: “Our Community Champions scheme is all about providing support to good causes in the areas where we are building.
“We would like to encourage other such groups or charities to apply.”
