Property problems? Try the houses for sale in Dumfries
28 June 2011
With a new baby on the way, time wasn’t on the side of Craig Learmont and his partner Zoe O’Connor when they decided to move up the property ladder into a brand new home.
However, thanks to Persimmon Homes West Scotland’s Part Exchange scheme, buying the property of their dreams turned out to be a breeze.
Having set their sights on a four bedroom detached ‘Shira’ home at Hillview Meadows, houses for sale in Dumfries, the couple still had their own three bedroom property to sell, which left them facing the prospect of being caught up in a chain, dramatically slowing down the moving process.
Craig comments: “After a month on the market we’d found a buyer for our property, but then it turned out that they didn’t have a buyer for their house, which put us in a difficult position as we needed to move as quickly as possible.
“We hadn’t considered Part Exchange because we weren’t really aware of what it involved, but after speaking to Persimmon’s New Home Managers, they explained how flexible the scheme could be and how it could benefit our situation.
“In the end, after opting for Part Exchange, Persimmon Homes bought the house from the people who were buying our property, which not only put an end to the chain but enabled both us and them to move, which was really the ideal situation for everyone involved.
“The support we received from Persimmon Homes has been fantastic, and they even brought our moving in date forward so were moved in within a month of choosing to buy through the scheme.”
Just a week after moving in the couple, were celebrating the arrival of their little baby boy, Alexander, making the ending to their moving story even happier.
