RCT football club scores shirt funding
12 July 2021
Youngsters at a junior football club in Rhondda Cynon Taf will be looking sharp for the new season after receiving a grant for new kit.
Brynna Juniors Football Club has hit the back of the net with £1,000 from leading housebuilder Persimmon Homes West Wales.
The funding comes as part of Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative, which sees 64 good causes across Great Britain awarded up to £1,000 every month.
Scott Davies, of the club, said: “We are extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes for this generous donation. The children will be over the moon.
“We are extremely proud to a platinum rated club which is inclusive to all, regardless of ability. Every child pays subs to cover training and matches but we provide the kits through fundraising and contributions.
“It’s been harder than ever to raise money due to Covid-19 so this donation from Persimmon is just fantastic and will allow us to buy kit for two teams.”
The club currently has 185 boys and girls on its books.
Sharon Bouhali, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Wales, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Brynna Juniors Football Club.
“As a club they show a clear commitment to inclusivity and the development of their children. I’m sure some fresh shirts for the new season will be a big boost for everyone.”
Persimmon Homes is currently building a variety of two, three and four-bedroom homes at its Milton Meadow development in Llanharan, Pontyclun.
