Romance in the air as Russell pops the question on move-in day
30 September 2019
An Abingdon woman got more than she bargained for when she stepped into her new home for the first time as her partner dropped to one knee and proposed.
Charlotte Langham-West, 23, thought her partner of three years, Russell, 27, had been acting strangely all day, but she put that down to the nerves of moving into their new home in Grove.
He said: “I insisted Charlotte entered our new home first and as she headed in, she noticed the sign that read ‘Charlotte, my princess, turn around’, but to her surprise, as she turned around I was on one knee with a ring.”
Charlotte, said: “It was a complete surprise. There were lots of tears – happy tears of course! It was all very overwhelming, but wonderful. It’ll be a day to remember – buying our dream first home and a proposal.”
The happy couple have moved into a three-bedroom Souter style home at Wellington Gate.
Charlotte, added: “Persimmon Homes have truly made all our dreams come true and we couldn’t be more grateful for our beautiful new home.”
“They even went as far as helping my now fiancé to propose by fitting the proposal banner on the living room door which our front door and porch leads to.”
“From the day we moved in, we’ve experienced excellent customer care from a friendly team. Our site manager, Geoff, has gone above and beyond to make sure we are happy and has dealt with any concerns promptly. Nina, our sales advisor, is also always available to help us and just for a general chat too, which makes us feel valued.”
Pauline Fletcher, sales and marketing director at Persimmon Homes Wessex, said: “I’m really pleased that we were able to help Russell with his proposal.”
“They have bought a wonderful property at Wellington Gate, which I’m sure they’ll enjoy together as husband and wife for many years to come.”
Wellington Gate offers a range of two, three- and four-bedroom homes.
