Sales advisor's marathon effort to raise fund for hospice
02 February 2015
Staff at Persimmon Homes West Wales are backing one of their sales advisors by sponsoring her in her bid to run a half marathon for charity.
Becky, from Kilgetty, is no stranger to her running shoes having completed the last two Cardiff Half Marathons as well as finishing the Inverness 10k in 2013 and last September.
In addition to this, when she’s not selling Persimmon Homes, she takes on two boot camp sessions, two weight training classes and a 5k race every week.
Becky said: “I’ve always been a sporty person and have a history with weight training but running was never my forte until I started it in January 2013.
“St Peter’s Hospice helps with respite and end of life care. It is such an essential service for people with terminal illness and their families.
“My mother works there and so I have seen just how much hard work and dedication goes into looking after patients and the support that is needed.
“It is a charity very close to my heart.”
Persimmon Homes West Wales have sponsored Becky £200 which is in addition to donations from colleagues across the company.
She added: “I’m grateful to the contribution that Persimmon Homes have made and it is going towards such a good cause.
“Any half marathon is tough and you have to make sure you prepare properly. I’m told the Bath Half Marathon is a flat course but no doubt it will still be a challenge and one I’m prepared to take on.”
Sandra Crawford, sales manager at Persimmon Homes West Wales, said: “We’re delighted to sponsor Becky in half marathon mission, we’re always keen to support our staff members when they take on challenges such as this and we wish Becky the best of luck for March.”
Castleton Court, on Withybush Road in Haverfordwest has a range of quality three and four bedroom homes ideally positioned to benefit from both the picturesque countryside and bustling local attractions.
