Sales launch for new housing development
21 August 2020
Persimmon Homes North East is launching its new development in the Northumberland village of Amble.
The 272-home development called Hauxley Grange will see a range of three, four and five-bedroom properties built on a 34.25-acre site close to the Northumberland coast. A total of 41 homes, or 15 per cent, of the development will be affordable housing.
In addition to the new homes, more than £1.25 million will be spent on infrastructure, including education, health and sports facilities in the area and including works to protect the coastline, through Section 106 contributions.
Chris Curry, managing director of Persimmon Homes North East, said: “As a responsible builder, whenever we start working within a community, we look at ways to support local people and infrastructure and deliver affordable homes. These Section 106 contributions are required as part of the planning process and, in the case of Hauxley Grange, this will contribute a significant amount of funding to improve and enhance local life and the environment. We are also pleased to be creating jobs in construction and the supply chain which brings a boost to Northumberland’s economy and the region overall.”
Debbie Zaben, sales director for Persimmon Homes North East, added: “As well as being picturesque and a tourist destination, Amble still benefits from a working fishing port and has plenty of amenities which create a fantastic community. “There are excellent rail and road links which make Morpeth and Newcastle easily accessible, but the real attraction has to be the beautiful coastline, Hauxley Beach and the marina.
“Across all our developments we are committed to providing a desirable selection of homes for local people at the right price. The Government backed Help to Buy also means these homes could be available to buyers with just a five per cent deposit.”
The sales office for Hauxley Grange opens on Saturday, August 29 – to book an appointment call 01665 660 787.
