Sander on site at Leiston development
08 June 2021

Construction work at a Persimmon Suffolk new homes development has inspired a little builder on the site.
The aptly-named Sander Van Den Berg moved into one of the first plots at Buckton Place in Leiston and has been so fascinated by the Persimmon contractors working on the site that his parents have kitted out the eight-year-old with his own hi-vis vest, hard hat and toy tools.
Mum Rebecca explained: “From the moment we reserved our new home, Sander has been excited to see the construction process in action. He is always watching the builders and his favourite pastime is spotting diggers on the site.
“Moving to Buckton Place has been a great experience and the Persimmon team have been helpful from start to finish. All the contractors on site give Sander a little wave when they see him in his hard hat. This really is a lovely place to live.”
Buckton Place, on Saxmundham Road, is a collection of two, three, four and five bedroom family homes, close to excellent local schools in the popular market town.
Lucy Woodhall, sales director for Persimmon Suffolk, added: “We are thrilled that Sander and his family have settled into their new home at Buckton Place.
“The construction industry is always crying out for skilled craftsmen, so we are encouraged to see someone as young at Sander being inspired by this vocation at such a young age.
“Hopefully, he will continue down this career path and – who knows – maybe join the Persimmon Suffolk team at one of our future sites.”
