Scouts wrap up charity donation
17 September 2021

Scouts, cubs and beavers in a Worcestershire troop will be wrapped up for outdoor adventures thanks to a £1,000 donation from Persimmon Homes South Midlands.
The 1st Astwood Bank Scouts youth members and volunteers were gifted the funds to provide branded hoodies after applying to our Community Champions initiative.
Sally Payne, who made the successful application, explained: “We are proud of our Scout uniforms but they aren’t always practical for activities such as fire lighting, hiking, litter picking and practising survival skills.
“We would love to provide adult volunteers and youth members with an informal ‘uniform’ that will keep us warm over the winter months.
“We are proud to be Scouts, and an informal uniform would help us seen in our community helping young people develop skills for life. We are grateful to Persimmon Homes South Midlands for helping make this happen.”
Amanda Rogers, head of sales for Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “The Scouts provided a lifeline to its members during lockdown and it is fantastic to see them regrouping and continuing with the activities they are known for. We are honoured to be able to support them in this way.”
