24 March 2023
Severn Valley is opening the door to home ownership for more families in Bristol with the launch of a new site in Fishpool, near Cribbs Causeway.
The region was joined by South Gloucestershire Councillor, Brian Hopkinson, to mark the launch of its ‘Beaufort Park’ development which will provide 1100 new quality homes for local people.
As part of its commitment to deliver a sustainable local community, Severn Valley will also make a number of substantial contributions totalling over £20 million in the form of new local infrastructure, schools, amenities, sports facilities and social housing.
The Beaufort Park development will provide a range of quality new three and four-bedroom homes and has been designed for a wide cross-section of buyers including first-time buyers, growing families and those looking to down size.
Commenting on the launch of the site, Cllr Brian Hopkinson, local councillor for Charlton and Cribbs, said:
“It was a pleasure to join Persimmon to mark the launch of its new Beaufort Park development.
“We know there is strong demand for new houses in the area, but it’s vital these are delivered in a sustainable manner, with significant investment by homebuilders in local infrastructure, facilities and amenities.
“I’m pleased to say Persimmon is investing over £20 million pounds in the local community. South Gloucestershire Council welcomes new homes being built for the benefit of local people, from new social housing and infrastructure, to substantial land transfers for a new primary school and community facility.
“The Council is committed to ensuring that new homes are built in ways that protect the Green Belt, and I look forward to seeing the site develop and families moving onto the site later this year.”
Through its s106 agreement with the local authority, the region will transfer land to the local authority for one new primary school, nursery centre, multi-use community facility including provision for a youth centre and retail use.
Land for a new railway station and a new access road off the A4018 has also been secured, while the site will be home to outdoor sports facilities such as two sports pitches, pavilion, multi-use games area and neighbourhood equipped play area.
The site includes an area of public open space for children, with green corridors to support local wildlife, while 5,300 sqm of allotments will also be available to residents.
Commenting on the launch of the site, Severn Valley Sales Director, Carly Spear, said:
“Whether you’re in search of your first home or are looking for more space for your growing family, this great location at Fishpool has something to suit everyone.
“Set to become an exciting new neighbourhood, Beaufort Park will offer its residents so many benefits right on their doorstep, from green open spaces to allotments, play areas to sports pitches; the site will also benefit from ecological measures such as bird and bat boxes and the installation of balancing ponds creating habitats for local wildlife.
“We are proud of the substantial investment of over £20 million which the development will deliver locally through new infrastructure, schools, amenities, sports facilities and social housing.. We are grateful to South Gloucestershire Council and key stakeholders for their cooperation and assistance as we open door to home ownership for more families around Bristol.
