Site manager named in national awards

15 November 2012

Persimmon Homes Anglia is celebrating after one of its site managers was awarded a prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award – for the third time

Ray Winney picked up his third win, for Lark Rise, the Persimmon Homes site at Carlton Colville. Ray has twice gone on to scoop Seal of Excellence Awards, marking him as one of the top site managers in the country.

Andrew Fuller, managing director of Persimmon Homes Anglia, said: “A Pride in the Job Award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive.

“Persimmon Homes demand the very highest standards of quality and service for customers, and Ray’s contribution is a superb example of this philosophy.

“We are very proud that one of our team has had his outstanding professionalism rewarded with this national recognition and eagerly await the NHBC’s awards luncheon to find out if Ray also receives a third Seal of Excellence Award.”

Ray Winney added: “Lark Rise was a good site where our consistent approach delivered a quality product. We expect to replicate that commitment at my current site, in Wymondham.

“Winning the Pride in the Job Quality Awards is a big achievement and it is a credit to all the team who work with me. We all strive to raise the quality of our sites and to be recognised by the NHBC show that what we’re doing is good and that we are lifting the standard.”

The NHBC (National House-Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Award identifies the unique role of site managers in the construction of new homes from start to finish and who influence the overall quality of the finished product.

The awards programme is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards and it has been instrumental in driving up the quality of new homes for 32 years, ensuring homeowner confidence in award-winning developments.

Quality Awards are selected by NHBC Building Inspectors and Inspection Managers, who judge winners on meticulous and consistent attention to detail, quality of workmanship on the site, excellent leadership, technical expertise and robust health and safety processes.

Persimmon Homes Anglia is delivering quality new homes throughout Norfolk and Suffolk, including developments at Rendlesham, Hadleigh, Wymondham, Harleston, Diss and Mildenhall, with new sites planned at Ipswich, Cringleford and Hoveton.
