“At Park Properties Housing Association, we make sure that all tenants and homeowners have the opportunity to access affordable and sustainable homes. We make sure our residents have trust with their landlord and other residents in the estate.
“When we look to acquire new build homes, we always consider that all homes are built to a high-quality specification and design, all meet national space standards and we have the ability to adapt bungalows and ground floor apartments to meet resident's needs.
“At Harlands Park in Uckfield, we acquired 18x shared ownership and 18x affordable rent from Persimmon Homes. This was a great opportunity for us to acquire an equal 50% split between tenures and for us to add more much needed affordable homes in Wealden Council. We cannot wait for all the homes to be delivered”
Cllr Ray Cade, Cabinet Member for Housing at Wealden District Council added:
“I welcome the provision of 36 affordable dwellings on this site. It will make a much needed contribution to Wealden residents requiring a decent place to live. It also provides the opportunity to take a step on the home ownership ladder by including 18 of the affordable units as shared ownership”
As part of the scheme and our commitment to Uckfield, we will invest over £800,000 into the local community including almost £200,000 for children’s play areas and nearly £300,000 into the local road network. This is primarily to improve access to the town centre. We have also upgraded the existing bus stops on Framfield Road and built new footpaths to improve access for local residents to Uckfield Hospital and Mallard Drive recreation ground.
