South Midlands team completes land deal with Cheltenham Borough Council

A range of high-quality homes will soon help local people in housing need, following a land deal involving our South Midlands team and Cheltenham Borough Council.
The homes will be developed on land at our Swindon Farm development in the Gloucestershire town and will be managed by Cheltenham Borough Council, who will offer the properties to those in the borough who have been identified as in need.
The milestone was marked by a visit to the Cheltenham development by Paul Rodgers, Group Director of Partnership Homes at Persimmon South Midlands, Persimmon South Midlands Managing Director Russell Griffin and Cllr Peter Jeffries, deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for major developments and housing delivery at Cheltenham Borough Council.
Cllr Peter Jeffries, deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for major developments and housing delivery at Cheltenham Borough Council said: “We’re delighted to be working with Persimmon Homes to bring forward 70 affordable homes for families in need of affordable housing. These new homes will contain a mix of affordable rent, and five homes will be shared ownership, where we will ensure these go to local people most in need of affordable housing.
“This partnership forms part of our wider £180m housing investment plan to increase the supply of housing and creating healthy and happy places to live, with communities where everyone can thrive.”
Russell Griffin, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “This land deal with Cheltenham Borough Council is the latest example of our successful partnership with local authorities, helping to deliver much-needed homes for local families in the area. It was great to welcome Cllr Jeffries to the site to see the positive impact that our partnerships are having in Cheltenham.”
“We’ll continue to work closely with our local partners to ensure our shared efforts make real, positive differences to the communities we build in.”
