South Midlands team gives £1,000 cash boost to Redditch District Scouts
24 April 2023

A group of Scouts from Redditch has secured a donation from our South Midlands team to ensure its annual camping trips can continue in 2023.
Redditch District Scouts received the £1,000 funding boost as part of our Community Champions initiative. The group’s purpose is to help young people make new friends, have amazing adventures and learn skills for life. As a voluntary organisation, the team runs activities on a small budget, with donations helping the group to bring trips and activities for the Scouts to life.
During 2023, Redditch District Scouts has planned a series of four camps and two one-day events which will be attended by 75 young people aged 10-18 years from Redditch and the surrounding areas. The funding boost from Persimmon Homes will allow the trips to take place, providing an enriching getaway for the young people in the group.
Sally Payne, Group Scout Leader at Redditch District Scouts, said: “We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes and their kind donation of £1,000 via their Community Champions Fund. The support that Persimmon has given us will allow our camping trips to take place in 2023, offering young people the chance to further their personal development, fun and adventure.”
Amanda Rogers, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s great to be able to offer this support to Redditch District Scouts, and we hope the trips away are enjoyed by all!”
