South Midlands team gives £5,000 cash boost to Redditch Scout Group

A group of Scouts from Redditch has secured a £5,000 donation from our South Midlands team, ensuring that members of the group can attend an annual teambuilding activity weekend for free.

11^th Redditch Scout Group received the funding boost as part of our Community Champions initiative. The donation will go towards covering the cost of attendance for the whole group at Shirejam, a scouting event for those based in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Taking place on the second week in July, Shirejam gives scout groups across the region the opportunity to meet and take part in a range of activities – helping to develop their teamwork and interpersonal skills. Some of the activities available to the scout groups during this weekend include water zorbing, archery, inflatable assault courses, escape rooms and art classes.

Lesley Spencer at 11^th Redditch Scout Group said: “We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes and their kind donation of £5,000 via their Community Champions Fund. The support that Persimmon has given us will allow for our members and leaders to attend Shirejam with no cost to them, offering young people the chance to further their personal development, fun and adventure.”
