Staff dive in to help Suffolk charity
06 March 2020
Intrepid staff from a regional housebuilder took part in a skydive to raise almost £5,000 for their chosen charity of the year, Age UK Suffolk.
Persimmon Homes Suffolk employees also held their own bake-off competition and regular ‘dress down Fridays’ to bring their fundraising total to £4,720.29, which was presented to charity fundraising officer Lindsay Long when she visited the company’s Great Blakenham headquarters.
Ian Hamilton, Director in charge, said: “Every year our employees choose a regional charity to be the focus of all their fundraising and they were very impressed with the work done by this organisation. The wide range of services offered to older members of our community are vital to their wellbeing – whether it is advice and information, home help, befriending or activities to help people stay active.”
Age UK Suffolk is a local, independent charity, working with and for older people in the county. For more information about the services the charity provides, visit the website. Persimmon, which has new homes developments across Suffolk, also makes two donations of up to £1,000 every month to local groups and charities through its Community Champions scheme.
