Staff donate £2,500 to KidsAid Foundation
07 April 2021
Staff at Persimmon Midlands have raised £2,500 to help fund vital therapeutic services for local children.
Employees based at the regional headquarters in Northampton focused on fundraising for the KidsAid Foundation through cake sales, dress down days and office raffles.
The charity provides creative therapies to support children and young people who have experienced trauma, helping them to lead happier, healthier lives.
Simon McDonald, regional divisional director (Central), said: “Every year our team selects a local charity to benefit from staff fundraising. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, with many of our office-based employees working from home, we made a real effort to maintain regular charity activities.
“We are proud to make this donation to a very worthy organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of children and families in our area.
“We have also pledged to help the charity refurbish their new premises at The Grosvenor Centre, ensuring they have the space needed to continue to deliver their vital services.”
KidsAid offers creative psychotherapies, including play therapy, art therapy, drama therapy and dance movement therapy. The charity also provides practical support and counselling to parents. To find out more visit www.kidsaid.org.uk
Tessa Taylor, for KidsAid, added: “KidsAid would like to express their grateful thanks to Persimmon Homes for their generous donation. This support will make a considerable difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people in Northamptonshire and will help victims to overcome their trauma, build resilience and progress into adulthood with improved emotional wellbeing and an increased chance of a positive future.”
Persimmon Homes Midlands also makes two donations of up to £1,000 every month to schools, clubs, charities and voluntary groups through its Community Champions scheme. More information and the simple application form can be found at www.persimmonhomes.com/charity
