Strategic Land and Planning Manager reflects on ten-year career
26 October 2023

A Strategic Land and Planning Manager in our South Midlands team is celebrating her tenth anniversary working for Persimmon, having joined us as a graduate in 2013.
Liz Woods joined the team as a Land and Planning Graduate following her degree in Planning and Property Development at Birmingham City University and has since worked her way up the ranks of the team in the past decade.
Holding a range of roles throughout her time at Persimmon, Liz has spent the past ten years working with the South Midlands team on a range of developments to deliver high quality new homes throughout the region.
Liz said: “I’m delighted to be celebrating my tenth anniversary at Persimmon this year. I’ve always enjoyed the fact that every day is different and that my role involves a lot of problem solving, usually resulting in reward via the granting of planning permissions. Throughout my time at Persimmon, I’ve had the opportunity to work on exciting projects such as urban extensions, new settlements all the way down to smaller sites.
"The ability to make positive changes - environmental, social and economic - through our developments is also a brilliant part of the role. I plan to keep progressing up the ladder. My goal is to become a Director one day and to continue managing young people and setting a good example for women in the industry.”
