Stroke of genius for Kent couple
15 November 2012
It was a stroke of genius for a golfing couple who used a Government initiative to purchase their very first home with Persimmon Homes South East
Stephen Salter from Wokingham and his fiancée Anna Burgess from West Kingsdown have taken up residence in their new Persimmon Home on the exclusive Rowan Gate development in Leybourne.
They were able to buy their ideal home by taking up the offer of the Government's FirstBuy scheme, which aims to help first time buyers to secure a home with a much smaller deposit than most mortgages would currently require.
Stephen is a PGA registered golfer, who works as an IT manager selling golf software, met Anna at a golf club, where he was teaching at the time and they have now been together for more than five years.
Stephen said: “We’re so excited to be in our new Persimmon Home to start our lives together.
“Everyone was really helpful and made our move stress free but without FirstBuy it would have taken us so much longer to buy our own property.”
The happy couple are planning to tie the knot next year.
Julia Price, sales director for Persimmon Homes South East said: “We’re so pleased for Stephen and Anna taking their first steps onto the property ladder.
“Rowan Gate is a wonderful development of three and four bedroom homes with plenty of space for Stephen and Anna to grow as a family, and of course, if you’re a sports enthusiast, football, cricket and golf are all just a stone’s throw away, which I’m sure makes Stephen very happy!
“We’ve now sold more than 75 per cent of the homes at Rowan Gate and our allocation of FirstBuy funds is rapidly running out, so if others are needing help to buy their first home they should act fast.
“More information on the scheme can be obtained from our marketing suite at Rowan Gate which is open every day from 10am to 5pm.”
