Suffolk completes deal to progress Honours Meadow development in Rendlesham

Suffolk region have completed the purchase of land to deliver a housing development in the popular location of Rendlesham, Suffolk.
'Honours Meadow’ off Redwald Road, will deliver 75 new homes supporting the local need for quality new housing. A third of these will be transferred to a housing association, providing a mix of rented, shared ownership and discount market value properties.
Along with the boost to local housing needs, the scheme will bring a range of community benefits including allotments and the creation of new woodland walks.
We are also providing around £600,000 to the Community Infrastructure Levy.
Ian Hamilton, Managing Director for Suffolk said: “This is a hugely exciting development that will not only generate significant job opportunities throughout the lifespan of the project, but will also leave lasting community benefits.
“Honours Meadow will provide 75 high quality homes helping address the need for new quality housing whilst at the same time making important contributions to local services and infrastructure.
The land was purchased from a local family and the site has been named in honour of the late Captain Robin Sheepshanks CBE and Lilias Sheepshanks OBE in recognition of the honours they received.
