Suffolk staff pledge their help to local families
18 January 2021
A regional Persimmon team’s employees have pledged to raise funds for local families in need of help and support.
Staff based at the Persimmon Suffolk offices in Great Blakenham have chosen Home-Start in Suffolk as their ‘charity of the year’ – the focus of all in-house fundraising through the year.
Persimmon Homes Suffolk managing director Ian Hamilton said: “We believe it is really important to support good causes that make a real difference to local people. Home-Start in Suffolk is an excellent example, providing practical help and emotional support for those who need it most.”
Home-Start in Suffolk is the county's largest family support charity, aiming to give every child in Suffolk the best start in life because of the love, support and guidance they receive from their parents, guardians or the people performing the role of their parents.
The charity’s team of volunteers provide practical advice and support to help families facing homelessness, poverty, illness, family breakdowns, isolation, addiction and physical or mental health issues.
Home-Start in Suffolk CEO, Tara Spence said: “We are delighted that Persimmon Homes have chosen to support Home-Start in Suffolk this year and we are really looking forward to working with the team here in our county throughout 2021 as part of this important corporate partnership. With the support of partnerships such as this, our organisation is able to extend their reach to more families in need and we are grateful to Persimmon Homes for their support.”
Persimmon – which has new homes developments across Suffolk and – also makes two donations of up to £1,000 every month to local groups and charities through its Community Champions scheme. Find out more at www.persimmonhomes.com/charity..
