Suffolk team swings into action with fundraiser for hospice

15 October 2025

Bricklayers, carpenters and groundworkers went head-to-head with staff from our Suffolk region as they competed in a charity golf day in aid of a Suffolk hospice.

The team in Suffolk announced back in January that St Elizabeth Hospice would be their charity of the year and they have been working to raise vital funds for the cause.

The team from the Great Blakenham regional office hosted a golf day at Hintlesham Golf Club and invited valued contractors and supply chain teams to join them, raising a remarkable £15,000 for the charity and doubling their total raised to date to £30,000.

Teams competed over 18 holes with bonus points up for grabs on sponsored holes thanks to the generosity of contractors working across Persimmon’s developments in Suffolk.

The day culminated in a raffle draw and auction with each of the housebuilder’s directors offering their services for the day in exchange for a donation to the charity.

We were the headline sponsor of this year’s Midnight Walk, organised by the hospice charity, and the team in Suffolk have also held dress down days, bake sales, raffles and a bring your dog to work day.

Stacy Brett, Deputy Managing Director for Persimmon Homes Suffolk, said:

“I am incredibly humbled by the generosity of all of our contractors who have supported the charity golf day, either by donating prizes, sponsoring a hole or taking part.

“We are proud to have handed over in excess of £30,000 to St Elizabeth Hospice this year and hope to raise even more with a final push in the run up to Christmas. St Elizabeth is a charity that so many in Suffolk hold close to their hearts and we are delighted to continue to support the important work they do helping individuals and families when they most need it.”

Liz Baldwin, Corporate and Sponsorship Fundraising Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said:

“Thank you to Persimmon Homes Suffolk and to everyone who took part in the golf day, helping to raise such a fantastic amount for our services.

“This adds to the amazing funds Persimmon Homes Suffolk has raised through their ongoing support of the hospice over the last year.

“It costs around £12 million each year to deliver our care to more than 4,000 people in the community and every penny raised helps us to ensure these vital services continue.”
