Suffolk welcomes planning decision

22 September 2022

Suffolk region has welcomed West Suffolk Council’s green light for 98 new homes on our Boyton Place development in Haverhill which follow the hugely successful Phase 1 and 2 developments.

Managing Director Ian Hamilton said: “We are very pleased with the Councils decision to approve the new phase of development off Ann Suckling Road which will bring much needed homes to the area. The site has been designed with families in mind and we will be offering a wide range of 1-5 bedroom properties, as well as 29 affordable homes.

Consideration has been given to ecology with the planting of 71 new trees, some of which will be semi-mature, as well as wildflower meadow areas, bird and bat boxes and reptile hibernaculum.

In addition, each property is within a 2 minute walk to public open space and offers excellent connectivity to the wider development site and access to the existing public rights of way.”

Suffolk Planning Manager, Stuart McAdam added: “This development has been designed with urban character, respectful of the topography and stepped rooflines that are typical of Haverhill. The urban square is pedestrian focused with the footpaths and ramps giving pedestrians priority and slowing vehicular movements. In addition, the streets have been designed to encourage interaction between residents to help with community cohesion.”

Ian Hamilton, added: “The site will provide a number of community benefits secured through the S106 legal agreement which accompanied the outline planning permission and include a site for a new primary school along with financial contributions towards education, community facilities, libraries, off-site highway improvements, a relief road, new bus service and over 11 hectares of open space and play facilities.
