Support for young carers in Suffolk
29 July 2021

Young carers registered with Suffolk Family Carers will be able to enjoy respite activities thanks to a £1,000 donation.
Our Suffolk regional team selected the charity to receive the funding through its Building Futures scheme, which supports organisations working with the under-18s.
Project manager Jessica Searle said: “Our service provides support, advice and guidance to more than 1,600 young people aged between five and 16. Young carers may need emotional or wellbeing support, practical assistance or just a chance to mix with other young people.
“This funding will allow us to host a respite activity for young carers aged nine to 12, enabling them to ‘get away’ overnight and enjoy a range of outdoor pursuits as well as wellbeing sessions where they can share their experiences.
“We are very grateful to Persimmon Homes Suffolk for their support.”
