Team Breme united for summer fun
24 May 2021
Team Breme - a community group that unites people living at persimmon Homes South Midlands’ Breme Park development in Bromsgrove - has been making plans for summer activities.
Now that Covid restrictions are being eased members of the Breme Park community have been getting back to their old ways and organising fantastic social events for everyone on the development.
At Easter about 80 children took part in an Easter egg hunt and had the opportunity to meet the Breme Park Bunny in The Square. The successful event also raised £177 for Bromsgrove’s Primrose Hospice.
One of the Team Breme organisers Jo Allen said there are now plans for even more events and community litter picks during the summer.
“Our next event will be a spring walking fayre on Sunday, June 13. Its format will be very similar to the Christmas one we did , though hopefully with drier weather!” she said.
“We will have a few stalls on the Square but also dotted around the development to encourage people to move around. So far we have 13 stalls confirmed and the same number again in maybes, so we are hoping this will also be a successful event.”
“We also plan to organise a ticketed "Picnic in the Park" around late July/early August to get residents back together properly. Nothing too raucous, just a few games/competitions, maybe a little music/comedy and everyone brings their own picnic blankets etc.”
“In the meantime, to keep Breme Park as we love it, we are restarting our Sunday morning litter picks and keeping on top of the sweeping, weeding and pruning around The Square.”
Jo added: “Team Breme has been useful for the community over the last 12 months and the feeling is that we should be going forward with our plans and supporting our fabulous community.”
Russell Griffin, managing director of Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “Breme Park is one of our long-completed developments and it is inspiring to see such a strong community spirit has evolved there.”
“The residents are clearly proud to be part of Breme Park and there is such an inclusive and welcoming feel to the events they are planning. We wish Team Breme and the residents all the best and will support them.”
