A charity that supports families in a Carmarthenshire village is celebrating after receiving a financial boost from Persimmon Homes.
Trimsaran Family Centre, which supports local families with workshops and advice sessions, has been awarded £900 by Persimmon Homes West Wales.
During the latest lockdown, the charity has been providing families with activity packs to help keep people motivated.
Helen Rosser, of Trimsaran Family Centre, said: “We are very grateful to Persimmon Homes for supporting our charity.”
“During lockdown we have had to adapt and we have been providing support via social media, doorstep deliveries and chats.”
“We’ve also been providing activity packs to give families inspiration and ideas, and they have been very well received. This money from Persimmon will allow us to extend that project by a further 10 weeks.”
“It’s brilliant to see a large company like Persimmon getting involved in the local community in this way.”
Trimsaran Family Centre is for anyone who has or are looking after children up to the age of 11.
Sharon Bouhali, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Wales, said: “Lockdown has been particularly tough for families with young children. It’s difficult for parents to keep their children motivated and engaged and they need all the help they can get.”
“Trimsaran Family Centre provides a vital service and we’re really pleased to be able to help through Community Champions.”
