A charity playgroup in Tuffley which helps disadvantaged children have the best start in life has received a financial boost from us.
Georges Playgroup, which provides high quality, affordable childcare, has bagged £750 through the Community Champions scheme. Each month Persimmon donates up to £64,000 to good causes across the UK. The money will be used to improve the group’s garden area.
Sarah Robins, of Georges Playgroup, said: “We’re thrilled to receive this tremendous funding from Persimmon. We’re committed to providing affordable childcare so that all families can access help to give their child experience of interaction with peers to aid their development. We also signpost and support parents in need.
“We’re currently raising money to improve our garden area. We want to make the garden more inviting to the local wildlife, help bees and help children understand the importance of the natural environment. This money will help us to install flowers, herbs, a vegetable patch and fruit trees as well as buying pots, plants, soil, wood and benches.”
Carly Spear, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Georges Playgroup with this money. It’s a tough time for families for all sorts of reasons so it’s great that this group exists to offer affordable services for children in the Tuffley area. We’re proud to support groups and charities in the areas in which we build.”
Persimmon Homes is currently building stunning new homes in Tuffley at its Yew Tree Gardens development on Grange Road, where prices start at £315,000.
