Tulips for Tapping comes into bloom with over £500,000 raised
19 May 2025

The team at Persimmon Homes East Midlands were pleased to donate £5,000 to The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House ahead of its main event this spring, Tulips for Tapping.
This donation is part of the Community Champions scheme which sees £6,000 donated quarterly to local charities and organisations where Persimmon Homes build.
The cheque handover ahead of the event took place at Tapping House, where the team showed their support for the charity’s invaluable work in the community. The Hospice provides compassionate care and support to patients and their families, ensuring dignity and comfort during difficult times. The full amount raised will go directly to Tapping House to fund care for people who are living with a life limiting illness, and support for those most important to them.
The donation was presented to Tapping House by Managing Director Ben Smith and Land Director Michelle Jeffrey, alongside tulip farm nursery owners Mark and Susanne Eves. This year's event provided the charity with a record-breaking donation total of £507,450, raised across the 10 day event. The 10 day sell out event opened the tulip fields to the public to visit 9.3 million tulips in full bloom. Over 31,000 people travelled from across the world to visit the fields close to Persimmon Homes development Lavender Fields and The Willows to walk through the tulips.
Ben Smith, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes East Midlands, said:
"We are delighted to support Tapping House with this donation and to be part of the Tulips for Tapping event. This charity plays a vital role in the community. As a five-star housebuilder committed to supporting the areas where we build, we take great pride in giving back to local causes."
