We’re helping to support local community groups

Two worthy organisations, helping to improve the lives of people in their communities, have received a funding boost from Persimmon Homes Lancashire.
Diane Finch, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Lancashire, said: “As a company we are committed to supporting the small charities, clubs and organisations that operate near to our new homes developments.
“We are delighted to be supporting the fundraising efforts of two worthy causes, who both display all the qualities that make a perfect community champion.”
Just Good Friends Limited provides support to people experiencing loneliness, depression and social isolation. The group provides a range of services - including counselling, tea sessions and musical events - to help empower members to help themselves and enhance their quality of life.
Lisa Bennett, from the group, said: “The charity is run by volunteers who work tirelessly to provide support, companionship and advice to our members. We have previously secured funding through successful community and sponsored events and the funding boost from Persimmon will allow us to expand upon the activities we currently offer. We can’t thank Persimmon enough for their generous donation.”
Morecambe Bay Food Bank provides emergency supplies to help people in the community through difficult times. The food bank has already held successful fundraising activities including raffles and quizzes, and the match-funding donation from Persimmon will help to boost the bank’s food collections through the summer.
Community groups, charities and good causes across the county have benefited thanks to the donations from Persimmon Homes. The scheme invites local groups and charities to bid for cash from a £750,000 national fund, with two donations of up to £1,000 being made locally each month.
