West Midlands Assistant Site Manager reflects on career journey so far

An Assistant Site Manager in our West Midlands team is celebrating her career with Persimmon so far, having joined us in 2018 as a Trainee Sales Advisor to now making the switch to working in the construction team.

Isabella Howe joined the West Midlands team five years ago, progressing her career in the sales team. Working on-site, Isabella gained an insight into the work of Site Managers and became interested in a career change as a result.

During her time as a Sales Advisor, Isabella always enjoyed the more technical side of the job; plot inspections, liaising with the site team for Monday meetings, explaining the technical drawings to clients during reservation, and helping other members of the sales team when they had more technical questions.

Isabella said: “So far I am really enjoying my new role! It’s a fast-paced job and there are always new challenges to face; no two days are the same. I have been fortunate enough to have my first site placement with a fantastic team who are always ready and willing to teach me and guide me in the right direction.

“I'm currently the training assistant on our new Charles Church development, Berry Hill Manor @ St Johns Grange, in Lichfield. The site won an NHBC Pride in the Job award last year and I am grateful to be able to learn from such a knowledgeable team, on a development as well-run as Berry Hill Manor.

I’m grateful to the support of everyone at West Midlands who has shown such enthusiasm in my career change. I’m hopeful that in the future, I’m able to inspire more women to consider a career in Construction.”
