West Midlands team offers cash boost to Staffordshire hospice

A Staffordshire-based hospice has received a £1,000 donation to help refurbish one of their therapy rooms, thanks to our West Midlands team.
Katharine House Hospice received the donation from West Midlands as part of our Community Champions initiative. The funds will be used to support adults with incurable illnesses and will help improve the therapy room by making it more calm and relaxing for patients.
Katharine House Hospice provides end-of-life care services to adults across mid-Staffordshire that have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Its services include an 8-bedded in-patient unit, therapy and wellbeing outpatient centre, community nursing team, counselling and bereavement support and a rapid response hospice-at-home.
Kelly Day, Senior Fundraiser at Katharine House Hospice, said: “A huge thank you to Persimmon Homes for supporting us in this way; it will make a huge difference to the comfort and wellbeing of our patients and their families.
“Currently, one in five people in the Stafford district will receive care from Katharine House Hospice and we support over 1,000 people each year at a cost of £3.2 million. Our vision is that people live well, remain pain free and die with dignity in a place of their choice.”
David Greengrass, Sales Director at West Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s an honour to be able to offer this support to Katharine House Hospice who do such vital work in and around the mid-Staffordshire area.”
