West Midlands team sponsors colour run at St Giles' CE Primary School
28 July 2023

A primary school in Shrewsbury has received support from our West Midlands team as its pupils take part in a colour run on the school’s grounds.
The team gave a £450 cash boost to St Giles' CE Primary School’s Year 6 leavers colour run, with the funds used to purchase the specialist colour powders, colourful sunglasses for the children, customised photo booth props, a balloon arch, rainbow cupcakes and medals.
The donation follows our refurbishment of an old bungalow at the school with the goal of creating a Design and Technology hub. The refreshed space will also be available for use by the wider community as a meeting place, as well as a nurture space for children with additional needs.
Caroline Gardner, Headteacher at St Giles' CE Primary School said: “We are extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes for their kindness and generosity in sponsoring our colour run.
“The event will allow the Year 6 leavers to take part in a memorable event to conclude their time at the school, and Persimmon’s kind donation has enabled the run to take place without any financial contribution from the school or parents which is much appreciated in the current economic climate.”
Daniel Hassall, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local schools and community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s a real honour to be able to continue to help St Giles' CE Primary School as they host the colour run for their leavers. We hope that the sponsorship allowed the pupils to have a day to remember as they take their next steps.”
