West Wales land and planning team strengthens

14 November 2022

West Wales has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new planning manager.

Luke Grattarola has joined the region’s land and planning team at the region’s head office in Penllergaer.

He will be responsible for obtaining planning approvals by overseeing planning applications, as well as reviewing development plan progress across South West Wales to align with the region’s growth strategy.

Luke, from Swansea, has joined the company after six years with Geraint John Planning Ltd in Cardiff, where he served as an associate and assisted Persimmon with the company’s Garden Village scheme in Gorseinon.

Luke has a master's degree in Town and Country Planning, and also previously worked as a town planner for WYG Group in Bristol, and as a land agent for Clifton Homes.

He officially joined the business three weeks ago, and commenting on his appointment, Luke said:

“This was a great opportunity and my first few weeks in the role have been thoroughly enjoyable.

“Through my work with the West Wales team on Garden Village, I was fully aware of the great expertise and camaraderie within the business, and I’ve been made to feel at home from day one.

“We have an ambitious growth plan with a number of new sites to come to fruition across South West Wales, and I am excited to have joined during a significant period for the business.

“The demand for housing from local people in the region has never been stronger, and I look forward to working with the team, key stakeholders and local communities to deliver the best value homes on the market in sustainable and inclusive communities.”

Welcoming Luke to the team, Deputy Managing Director for West Wales, Stuart Phillips, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Luke to the team in West Wales.

“We have ambitious plans across the region as we seek to deliver much-needed good quality homes for local people.

“Luke’s expertise will ensure we build homes for the future in sustainable communities, and produce schemes that deliver for local people across South West Wales.”
