A baseball club in Weston-super-Mare has received backing from Severn Valley region.
Weston Jets Baseball Club has received a £1,000 donation from our Severn Valley region, as the club continues its plans for development.
The donation comes through Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme, which supports good causes in the areas in which it is building.
Weston Jets train at Haywood Village – the impressive development brought forward by Persimmon in the seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare.
Persimmon has recently launched a new phase at the site which includes a mix of quality one, two, three and four-bedroom homes.
The Sandcastles offers a choice of different house styles, ranging from one-bedroom homes - perfect for an investment or first-time buyer, to spacious four-bedroom homes - ideal for those with large families. Prices range from £250,995 to £368,995.
The substantial development will deliver 2,500 new homes for local families and first-time buyers, along with two new primary schools and a local centre.
Nick Hodder, Chairman of Weston Jets Baseball, said:
“A massive thank you to Persimmon Severn Valley for this support.
“We are a fully inclusive club welcoming all players, and the funding will be used to purchase equipment and playing kit to ensure there are no financial barriers to playing this amazing, and rapidly growing sport in the UK.
“We are located very close to Persimmon’s Haywood Village which has transformed the local area, and we’re delighted to see a local company with such a strong presence in the community supporting our club.”
Carly Spear, Sales Director from our Severn Valley said:
“We’re delighted to be able to support a growing community club in the Weston Jets.
“As a local business, Persimmon is determined to support the communities where we are building – and Community Champions is just one way in which we do that.
“Alongside building much-needed homes at our substantial development in Haywood Village, we are also determined to leave a positive lasting legacy in the local community, supporting organisations across all walks of life.”
