An apprentice bricklayer from Calne has received national recognition in the annual Persimmon Homes Achievers Awards.
Persimmon Homes launched its Achievers Awards programme to put the spotlight on those who have gone above and beyond to succeed in their role.
Ewan Harnett, who works at Regent Park development in Calne, was named Trade Apprentice of the Year runner-up in the housebuilder’s annual search for its top talent.
The 19-year-old was nominated by Persimmon Homes Wessex Operations Manager Andy Owen. He said: “Ewan has worked hard and developed an enthusiastic and positive attitude to his work and has actively responded to the mentoring provided.
“No matter what challenges Ewan faces, he always tackles them head on and is always pushing himself to be the best he can be and produce quality work at our sites.”
“He is hard working, punctual and one hundred percent dedicated to his training and the improvement we have seen in him over the course of the apprenticeship has been very rewarding.”
Ewan said: “It is a great honour to be recognised for my efforts in a job that I thoroughly enjoy. I’ve learnt so much with Persimmon, not only at college, but also with first-hand experience on site and the team has been very supportive throughout my training and development.”
Ewan was presented with a certificate of recognition at the Persimmon Homes Wessex offices in Malmesbury.
Persimmon Homes Wessex Managing Director designate Julian Roper, said: “It’s always rewarding to see young trainees succeeding in their roles and building solid foundations for their future careers.”
“The construction industry can provide many opportunities for those looking to make the next move in their careers and Persimmon is committed to providing the training and supporting employees to provide excellent service to our customers.”
